Stocks turned mixed in late afternoon trading Monday as the Dow Jones industrial average and S&P 500 came off record highs. The Nasdaq added 0.1%, while the S&P 500 was flat and the Dow dipped 0.1%. Volume was tracking lower across the board, although Friday makes for a tough comparison, as trade finished well above average on both major exchanges. Data-storage stocks were among the best performers, rising nearly 2% in the stock market today.
